Nancy Ann Martin ... enjoyed crafting; at 83

ROCHESTER - Nancy Ann Martin, 83, of Rochester, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born on December 4, 1942, in Reading, Pennsylvania, she was the cherished daughter of the late Donald and Dorothy Heebner.

Nancy was a devoted wife to her beloved husband of 60 years, Bernie, and a loving mother to her daughter, Kellie (Bob) Drake. Her greatest joy in life was her family, and she took immense pride in being a grandmother to Lauren (Paul) Flynn, Sean (Courtney) Drake, and Evan (Searra) Drake, and a great-grandmother to Amelia Drake. She is also survived by her brother, Terry Heebner. In addition to her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her sister, Donna Moyer.

A talented florist by trade, Nancy had a natural gift for creating beauty--a trait that extended into all aspects of her life. She found joy in life's simple pleasures and meaningful connections, always cherishing time spent with those she loved most. Whether tending to her garden, preparing home-cooked meals, or expressing her creativity through crochet, sewing, and crafts, Nancy's hands and heart were never idle. She especially treasured summers on the Chesapeake Bay, where she enjoyed boating, fishing, and crabbing. She also enjoyed occasional trips to the casino, embracing the fun and camaraderie of the experience. In her quieter moments, she stayed engaged with the world, often relaxing with her favorite programs.

Nancy had a lifelong love for animals, especially dogs. Over the years, she opened her heart and home to many rescue dogs, giving them comfort, care, and a second chance at a happy life. Her compassion for animals reflected her generous spirit and deep capacity for love.

She also volunteered in the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, council 2048, serving the greater Rochester area by supporting community projects, charity and church events.

Nancy will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who guided her family with faith, love, and quiet strength. Her warmth, creativity, and unwavering devotion to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
