Man walking dog struck, killed by vehicle on Old Rochester Road in Somersworth

SOMERSWORTH - A man and the dog he was walking with were killed Friday when they were struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Old Rochester Road and Hickory Lane in Somersworth.
The crash occurred around 4:40 p.m. drawing Somersworth Police and Fire units to the scene, where they found the man unconscious and not breathing in the roadway, according to a release from Somersworth Police.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash remained on scene, was cooperative with officers and did not appear impaired, police say.
Police are not releasing the deceased man's name pending notification of next of kin.
The county's Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash.
