Elizabeth A. Barton ... enjoyed yard sales; at 85

CONCORD - Elizabeth A. "Betty" Barton, 85, died peacefully on Monday, September 1, 2025, at the Merrimack County Nursing Home, after a period of declining health.

Born on March 13, 1940, in Rochester, NH, she was the daughter of the late Carlisle and Hazel (Wishart) Lurvey.

Betty was a talented artist who found joy in sharing her creativity with others. She also worked as a caretaker, where her compassion and giving spirit touched many lives. Known for her love of yard sales and browsing the aisles of Goodwill, Betty had a knack for finding treasures in unexpected places. Above all, she will be remembered for her generous heart--always giving to others and yet often feeling she could never give enough.

Family meant everything to Betty. She is survived by her children, Barbara Barton of Hudson, MA; Lewis Barton, Jr. and his wife Paige of Stanley, NC; and Steve Barton and his wife Deborah of San Diego, CA; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother, Carlisle "Sonny" Lurvey, Jr.
