EAST ROCHESTER - The new Nancy Loud Park on the grounds of the former Nancy Loud Elementary School will officially open Thursday, but folks are already taking advantage of the spanking new facility on Cocheco Avenue.

The park features gravel walking paths, a new playground, a basketball court, a shaded pavilion, two pieces of multi-generational fitness equipment and ambient lighting.
"The park will continue the legacy of this special East Rochester property," said Lauren Krans, Director of Recreation & Arena. "With input from the community, we have designed a beautiful, comfortable outdoor space where the neighborhood can gather and have fun for generations to come."
The playground will officially open on Thursday following a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m.

The Rochester Public Library is planning a Story Walk for children and families after the ribbon cutting.

Attendees are encouraged to carpool as on-site parking is limited.
