ROCHESTER - The Franklin Gallery, located at 33 N. Main Street in Rochester, will host an exhibit during the month of July featuring the work of local artist Isaac Hadrych.

Isaac J. W. Hadrych is a self-taught emerging visual artist based in Newmarket, New Hampshire. His work explores themes of loneliness, intimacy, romance, and queerness. His primary focus is making every piece visually engaging. Hadrych works mainly in acrylics, using a faux-cohesive palette and recycling what’s left over into “mud.” Common colors used in his work are olive green and “medicinal” blue. Strong influences on his work include the Impressionists, Post-Impressionism, Fauvism, and cinema.

“All my paintings are a byproduct, themes emerging organically, chasing an undeniable image, one that captures you,” says Hadrych. “I focus heavily on individual subject matter; images conjured up sometimes years in advance. A room full of my art should be a visual barrage each demanding your attention. If one of my pieces were to stick in your head after viewing, whether it is thirty minutes, or thirty days, then I win. It’s all about spectacle.”

RiverStones Custom Framing and the Franklin Gallery are open Wednesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For information, call (603) 812-1488 or email riverstonescustomframing@gmail.com.
