Water usage recording devices to be installed on all city-water residences

ROCHESTER - The DPW on Thursday began notifying residents connected to the city's water system that meter transceiver units, known as MXUs, will be installed on the exterior of homes throughout Rochester.

The MXUs allow meter technicians to transmit water usage data wirelessly. The installation project is ongoing and is expected to take several years to complete.
