Construction delays expected Wednesday on I-95 southbound in Por0tsmouth

POTYDMOUYH - The New Hampshire Department of Transportation will be closing the I-95 Exit 7 southbound on-ramp in Portsmouth on Wednesday between 9 a.m. and noon. The I-95 Southbound shoulder will also be closed from mile marker 15.2 to 14.6 during this time.

Weather permitting, the work will be done to facilitate the construction of sound abatement walls and privacy fencing along I-95 in Portsmouth.

Message boards, uniformed officers, traffic control devices, and smart work zone devices will be used to notify the travelling public of the work. A detour package will be in place on Market Street to direct traffic back to I-95 southbound via the Portsmouth Traffic Circle.
