ROCHESTER - Two motorists were injured Friday night in a three-car pileup on Wakefield Street.

The accident occurred around 9:15 p.m. when Rochester Police say a preliminary investigation revealed that a car slowing for a pedestrian in a crosswalk was rear-ended by another vehicle.

According to police. Susan Huebel, 45, of Strafford was driving a 2014 Honda CRV when she slowed in traffic for a pedestrian in the cross walk. At that point, William Bailey, 53, of Dover driving a 1999 Cadillac north on Wakefield Street collided with a vehicle driven by Adam Lassonde, 28, of Rochester who was driving a 2015 Honda CRV in front of Bailey. Lassonde's Honda then crashed into Huebel's vehicle.

All those involved were wearing their seat belts, with the lone air bag deployment coming in Bailey's vehicle.

Both Bailey's and Lassonde's vehicles were towed from the scene. Huebel suffered only minor injury and was not transported, while Molly Lassonde, a passenger in the Honda, was transported to Frisbie Hospital with what was described as a minor injury.

Northbound Wakefield Street was shut down from Portland Street to City Hall for about an hour with traffic diverted on to Columbus Avenue while an investigation was completed. Neither speed nor impairment appears to be a factor, police say.

The accident remains under investigation.
