MILTON - A preliminary investigation into a Milton man's death Thursday night in a house fire on Depot Pond Road reveals he may have been using medical oxygen in close proximity to smoking materials, officials say.

Anthony Disciscio, 59, was found deceased in the kitchen area by Milton firefighters who responded to a call around 9 p.m. from a neighbor who said they heard the fire alarm go off at 23 Depot Pond Road.

When Milton fire apparatus arrived a short time later, smoke was seen and fire discovered in the area of the first-floor kitchen. The blaze was quickly extinguished and Disciscio's body was found on the floor.

The official cause and manner of death is pending the results of laboratory tests being conducted by the State Medical Examiner's Office.

The fire is under investigation by members of the State Fire Marshal's Office, The Milton Fire Department, and the Milton Police Department.

The house holds two apartments, and Disciscio lived on the bottom floor, said an acquaintance.

He had lived in Milton for at least five years, moving from Masschusetts, the acquaintance said.
