Transient wanted in copper wire theft

ROCHESTER - The Rochester Police Most Wanted of the Week is a 37-year-old transient suspected in the theft of copper wire.

Edgar Scott Hawkins, 37, address unknown, was charged with felony criminal mischief and theft in connection with the incident. Hawkins did more than $6,000 in damage when he is alleged to have cut and removed copper ground wire.

Hawkins is described as 5-foot-5 and about 130 pounds, with strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes. He is also known to wear a long goatee, has both ears pierced and had numerous tattoos.

He also goes by Scott Hawkins.

An arrest warrant has been issued.
