ROCHESTER - Running your own business can be somewhat daunting, says Lee Copp, co-owner of Timeless Framing of Rochester, which celebrated its 20th year in business this week.

"Sometimes it seems likes it's been two years, sometimes a hundred," she said on Thursday after a celebration with Chamber of Commerce members.

The custom frame shop, whose motto is "We frame memories," has been in its same cozy location at 189A Wakefield St. in the Lilac Plaza North since it began in 1994.

Copp says she's the artistic one, while co-owner Fran Gray has a business background and handles the finances.

"I love choosing the right matting or frame to go with each piece to make it its own special work of art," said Copp, who is an accomplished painter in her own right.

Together the two women have built a business that has stood the test of time though it hasn't always been easy.

"We're happy we made it," Copp said. "There have been some rough times with the economy, but it seems like things are beginning to take a turn for the better."
