Stand up, cheer and snap your fingers for the Addams Family, a musical comedy now playing in its last weekend beginning tonight at the Rochester Opera House.

The cast's colorful characters are beautifully and touchingly replicated to perfection and the action is fast-paced, fanciful and full of whimsy and passion.

Speaking of passion, Robb Ross as Gomez is equal to the task, with plenty of breathtaking lust for his bride Morticia and a strong baritone to back up his yeoman work in a prolific set of singing parts.

Seraphina Caligiure as Morticia has her dainty steps down to perfection and displays strong vocals, especially in solo works.

The plot circles around Wednesday's hoping to introduce her "normal" boyfriend and parents to her spookycentric family.

What ensues is delightful mayhem that can't be described here adequately, so you'll just have to see it for yourself.

Todd Fernald as Uncle Fester and Tim Allen as Grandma Addams both have inspiring and hilarious supporting roles and Joey Dalfonso as Lurch is so understated much of the play that when he opens up he'll make you smile and laugh out loud.

The musical arrangements are playful and poignant and the comedy is equal parts slapstick and subtle.

Don't miss this hilarious rendition of a TV classic many of us grew up with.
