ROCHESTER - As expected the boyfriend of the mom whose daughter died in a drug overdose last month in a Rochester motel room waived his probable cause hearing on Monday, paving the way for his indictment by a Strafford County grand jury.

Mark Ross of 479 Gonic Road, The Riviera Motel, Room 117, is shown in police affidavits as the person who offered what he thought was heroin to 17-year-old Eve Tarmey to snort the night she died inside the motel room she often shared with her mother and Ross.

In fact, it was laced with fentanyl, a synthetic opiate 30 times stronger than heroin. Tarmey died from fentanyl poisoning hours later, according to an autopsy.

Ross stands charged with felony dispensing of a controlled drug, death resulting, which has a maximum sentence of life in prison; felony conspiracy to commit possession of a controlled drug, felony tampering with witnesses and informants and two counts of falsifying physical evidence.

He is being held on $50,000 cash bail at Strafford County Jail.

Also charged in the case is Tarmey's mom, Jazzmyn Rood, 41, of 11 Barker Court, Rochester, who awaits a judge's decision on whether her case will be tossed or also move forward for indictment.

She is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, felony conspiracy to commit possession of a controlled drug and felony reckless conduct placing another in danger.

Rood's bail is set at $10,000 cash.

Meanwhile, the third suspect in the case, who drove to Massachusetts with Ross and Tarmey to get the drug that ultimately killed Tarmey, Leslie Aberle, is being held on $25,000 bail. Aberle, 31, of High St., Salisbury, is charged with felony conspiracy to commit possession of a controlled drug, felony tampering with witnesses and informants and dispensing controlled drug, death resulting, which could mean life in prison.

Her probable cause hearing is set for later this month.
