ROCHESTER - Sheldon W. "Shell" Damon, 84, of Richardson Street in Rochester, died at home on July 25, 2014.

Born May 14, 1930 in Meredith, the son of Sheldon and Beatrice M. (Chase) Damon, he was raised in Farmington and, had resided in Milton for over 29 years, He has resided in Rochester since 1977.

A retired contractor for Budel Builders of Rochester he had also worked at Spaulding Fibre and at Nute High School in Milton as a custodian.

All the years in Milton he was a member of the Community Church of Milton where he was a former superintendent of the Sunday school and had been very active in the church, also a member of the Tenneriffe Sports Club Sports program, a former Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader for troop #155 for over 20 years in Milton. Sheldon was a licensed Soccer and Basketball IAABO Official for 18 years and a past president and on the board of directors for the Rochester Area Seniors for many years.

Survived by 1 son: James R. and wife Kathie of Union, 1 daughter: Deborah J. Kerlin of Ocala, Fla., 1 daughter-in-law: Karen Damon of W. Lebanon, Maine, 2 Brothers: Richard Stuart of Gilford and Norman Stuart of Rochester, 10 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his son Sheldon "Skip" Damon August 8, 2002.
