Rock, movie series should heat up summer

The Rochester Opera House recently announced an expansion of its summer season with the introduction of two new series:

The Summer Rocks Series features a line-up of fantastic national and international touring bands, and the Summer Movies Series presents recent Academy award-winning movies and cult classics on one of the largest screens in the area (28 x 17.5 feet) with digital projection.

Summer Rocks kicks off with the funk, punk, soul fusion of Paranoid Social Club on July 11, followed by the legendary rock, funk, jazz sound of Groovechild on July 17. The Tommy Experience: A Tribute to the Who, featuring the groundbreaking Rock Opera, flies in from Sweden for the debut performance of their U.S. tour on July 18. The spectacular theatrical production of Satisfaction! The International Rolling Stones Show lights up the stage on July 29. Vyntyge Skynyrd turns on the Southern Rock fire of Lynyrd Skynyrd on August 14 and Half Step unites Jerry Garcia's Deadheads with their Grateful Dead Tribute on August 28.
