ROCHESTER - Whether you like to spread your wings and fly or keep your feet firmly planted on terra firma, the 5th Annual Wings & Wheels extravaganza next month is sure to please.

The event, hosted by the Rochester Police Department to benefit Gerry's Food Pantry, will take place on June 4 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Skyhaven Airport.

This family fun community event offers plane and helicopter rides, including free plane rides for youth ages 8-17 via the EAA's Young Eagles program.

There will also be scores of aircraft, cars and motorcycles on display, which the public can vote on as most popular.

Crafts, products, community info, and a large variety of delicious food concessions will also be available.

The event is especially popular with families and children, who will delight in meeting special guests Paw Patrol's Chase & Marshall, riding in on a fire truck with sirens and lights.

Those who dare can also participate in a wing-eating contest hosted by Buffalo Wild Wings, while a kid-friendly Hula Hoop contest boasts prizes for all who participate.

Also on hand will be many interactive police, fire, and military displays and exhibits. One highlight will be a formation flyover.

Live music will be provided by the J.C. Underhill Band.

Another highlight is sure to be the event's first-ever special appearance by "Elvis!" straight from Graceland. The King will arrive by helicopter at 12:30 p.m. and do a singalong with the band.

"This event is a true community collaborative effort in the fight against hunger," said Torey Kortz, executive director of the SHARE Fund, which operates Gerry's Food Pantry. "Wings and Wheels is the largest fund-raiser of the year for the Food Pantry and involves city government, businesses, civic and faith-based organizations, nonprofits, and youth groups all coming together to create a fun family atmosphere for all ages to enjoy."

Admission is a donation to Gerry's Food Pantry, the largest provider of free food resources in the local community, alleviating hunger for thousands every year.

The event is sponsored by Bank of New Hampshire, Pease Airport Management, and Hagan's Motor Pool. For more info go to: www.rochesterwingsandwheels.com.
