ALFRED, Maine - A Rochester man has been indicted on charges of felony domestic violence assault, assault and violation of bail.

Richard F. Knox, of 9 Pine St., allegedly committed the assault on July 1 in Lebanon, according to court records. The exact location was not disclosed.

The assault charges are all Class C felonies, while the bail violation is a Class E felony. Knox's criminal history includes a prior conviction of assault in 2003.

The York County grand jury indictments were handed down last week.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that there is enough evidence to warrant the prosecution to move forward with a trial.
