LEBANON - Robert "Rob" W. Henderson Jr., 68, a resident of Lebanon for over forty years, passed away from complications of lung cancer on Thursday, July 16, 2015, at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, N.H.

Rob, the only child of Robert W. Henderson Sr. and Veronica (Jakob) Henderson of Yardsley, N.Y., was born Jan. 2, 1947. His family moved to Lebanon in the early 1960s where they made their home and opened their antique business.

Rob spent 15 enjoyable years as a Special Education teacher at Spaulding High School in Rochester, N.H.

After his father passed away, Rob continued the family antique business as owner of "The Village Green" antique shop in West Lebanon.

Over twenty years ago, Mr. Henderson provided space and a living tree at The Village Green for the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony which continues to be held at the five-corners in West Lebanon every year.

Rob got great joy from participating in local functions. Halloween was made especially fun for the children in the village as he often dressed in handsome costume to pass out treats when they stopped at The Village Green.

Among other activities, Rob enjoyed spending time with other musician friends playing his guitar.

Mr. Henderson is survived by his best friend and loving, devoted wife, Margaret 'Claire' (Dixon) Henderson, his cousin, Fred Thumbhard of New York, his stepchildren, Laurie Stowell and Robert Duncan, both of King George, Va.; and his grandson, James Stowell, also of King George.

ARRANGEMENTS:

A graveside funeral service will be held at Forest Grove Cemetery on Cemetery RD just off Bakers Grant RD in Lebanon on August 1st, 2015 at 2PM. A gathering for family and friends where refreshments will be served will be held directly after the service at the West Lebanon Academy on the corner of Academy Lane and Jim Grant RD.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Rob's honor to the First Parish Congregational Church Food Pantry, P. O. Box 157, Lebanon, ME 04027, (better known as the Lebanon Food Pantry).
