The November slate for state representative Strafford County District I is set today after four were chosen during Primary Day voting on Tuesday.

The district, which comprises Middleton and Milton, had only one contested race, with Democrats Larry Brown and Candace Cole-McCrea besting Cory Mattocks to win a spot on the ballot for November's general election.

On the other side Republicans Robbie Parsons, the incumbent; and John Mullen Jr. also won spots for the November ballot.

Mullen topped all vote counts, with 348 (Milton 217, Middleton 171) followed by Parsons with 307 (Milton 230, Middleton 77).

Among Democrats it was Brown with 79 (Milton 65, Middleton 14) followed by Cole-McCrea with 69 (Milton 52, Middleton 17) and Mattocks with 33 (Milton 19, Middleton 14).

Walt Haverstein, who won the Republican primary for governor, polled well in Milton as well with 169 votes compared to 138 for his nearest competitor, Andrew Hemingway.

Scott Brown, meanwhile, who will face incumbent Democrat Jeanne Shaheen for a U.S. Senate seat, polled 140 votes in Milton followed by Bob Smith with 103 and Jim Rubens with 88.

Frank Guinta, who will face Democrat Carol Shea-Porter in November, did well in Milton, too, with 190 votes, far ahead of Union Leader backed candidate Dan Innis, who finished with 123.

Meanwhile, in Rochester, Democrat Rose Marie Rogers will challenge Republican Thomas Kaczynski, Jr., who ran unopposed, for the District 22 state representative slot that covers Ward 1 and Ward 6.

Also Democrat Sandra Keans won her primary and will run against Republican state Rep. Steven Beaudoin , who was unopposed, in the District 9 state rep slot, which covers Ward 2.
