Owner of van sought for questioning in house fire

ROCHESTER - Police are on the lookout for a vehicle seen in the driveway of an abandoned Rochester home the day before it went up in smoke earlier this month.

The fire occurred April 18 around 1:10 a.m. at 30 Hansonville Road at the corner of Gear Road and was declared a total loss.

Two witnesses, however, reported seeing a large white van in the driveway of the abandoned home the day before the fire. The van was described as a work type van that had a black and white checkered pattern on the back sides and rear of the vehicle.

Rochester Police are asking anyone who may have information about this van that could assist with the investigation or any other information regarding this fire to call Det. Matthew Flathers at the Rochester Police Department at 330-7109.
