No clean getaway in laundromat quarter theft

SANFORD - A young Sanford faces arraignment today on felony burglary charges after he allegedly stole a load of quarters from a city laundromat.

Jeremiah Rivard, 20 of Sanford was arrested Thursday after a surveillance image taken at Pleasant Street Suds Laundromat in Springvale was circulated on social media leading to a tip.

The theft occurred Wednesday around 9 a.m. After a short investigation police learned a suspect had gained entry to the laundromat and its machines and stolen an undisclosed amount of money, mostly quarters.

Rivard's bail was set at $500 cash. He'll be arraigned later today at Springvale District Court.
