MILTON - As quick with a smile as he is getting lawbreakers off the street, Sgt. Favorite has now been a staple of Milton's Police Force for a full decade.

Selectmen last month recognized the milestone, presenting Favorite with a plaque thanking him for his longtime service to the town.

Milton Police Chief Richard Krauss said last week that Favorite has been instrumental in providing consistent teaching to new officers on firearms and use-of-force training. He has been in charge of both basics of police work for nine years in Milton.

"Tto have that same structure in both firearms and use-of-force training is very helpful," Krauss said, adding that Favorite has outstanding relationships with the Milton community.

Favorite, who joined the force in July 2005, was awarded the plaque at the July 20 selectmen's meeting.
