ROCHESTER - The Market Basket at The Ridge won't be your grandmother's Market Basket, or even you mother's.

The regional supermarket giant known more for its discounted prices than its bells and whistles will go tony with its newest store set to open early next year, according to a press release from Ridge developer Waterstone.

The Ridge is currently under construction on Route 11 not far from the Rochester Walmart.

The Ridge's Market Basket will be roughly 80,000 square foot and "state-of-the-art," the press release heralds.

In addition to its varied food selection, the market will offer a comfortable dining area with flat screen TVs and free wi-fi.

There will also be an in-store café serving coffees, lattes, self-service ice cream, milkshakes and more.

"The addition of another Market Basket location in Rochester will be a wonderful new amenity to our community", said Rochester Mayor T. J. Jean. "I look forward to the new offerings which will be available with Market Basket's newer stores."

Josh Levy, principal of Waterstone said, "Market Basket is an excellent company that provides outstanding value, selection and service to its customers. With such a premier addition to an already exciting line-up of retailers, The Ridge will provide one-stop shopping and dining at great value to both local and regional shoppers.

A 55,000 square foot Hobby Lobby is also slated to open early 2016. The arts and crafts discount mega-store will feature more than 70,000 home décor, arts, hobbies, holiday and seasonal products. Hobby Lobby Stores operates over 600 stores across the nation including their newest location in Seabrook, NH at Waterstone's Seabrook Crossing on busy Route 1 where they have been very well received.

The Ridge will be a 300,000+ square foot open-air retail destination located on heavily traveled Route 11 in Rochester, just a mile from Exit 15 off the Spaulding Turnpike. Currently under development and opening early 2016, this regional shopping destination will be the centerpiece of the Granite Ridge Development District and will include a mix of retailers, restaurants, services, a movie theater and will also feature an outdoor park space for seasonal events, community gatherings, arts programs, farmer's markets, kids programs and a place to simply enjoy al-fresco dining.
