DOVER - A Rochester man convicted twice on previous theft charges now faces up to seven years in a New Hampshire state prison after his indictment earlier this month for allegedly stealing groceries from a Rochester Hannaford's.

Daniel Greenberg, 52, of 479 Gonic Road #1, stands charged with a Class B felony in the case, which also carries a maximum $4,000 fine.

Court documents allege that Greenberg on Oct. 7 "exercised unauthorized control over grocery items, the property of Hannaford's, after having twice been convicted of theft of property or services as a felony or Class A misdemeanor." Court documents did not note which city Hannaford's was the alleged target of the theft.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that enough evidence has been gathered to warrant a trial.
