DOVER - A Milton man is facing up to 40 years in prison after his indictment on heroin trafficking charges.

John Ackerman, 41, of 545 White Mountain Hwy., is faced with two counts of acts prohibited in connection with two alleged buys of the deadly drug by an undercover informant.

The sales were transacted on Feb. 22 in Rochester ($100); and on March 16 in Milton ($250), according to the indictment, which was handed down May 18 and released on Wednesday.

Ackerman also faces up to a $400,000 in fines.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, rather that enough evidence has been presented so that a grand jury finds the case has enough merit to warrant a trial.
