TAUNTON, Mass. - Officials on Friday reported that a Maine man has succumbed to injuries suffered in a three-boat crash at a Taunton pond last Friday.

It was announced on Friday that Stephen Joy, 67, of Bangor, died at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence.

Mark Greene, of Moultonborough, N.H., died at the scene of the crash during a race held as part of the Bill Giles Memorial Regatta.

Fire officials said last weekend that that one boat spun out traveling 65 mph, and then was struck by the other two.

The South Shore Outboard Association, which organizes Milton's June kickoff event every year, said on its Facebook page it was saddened by the news of Joy's death.

Another Maine man, 72, suffered minor injuries.
