LEBANON - Longtime Lebanon Town Clerk and Tax Collector Laura Bragg has resigned from both posts after what she called "months of soul searching" that led to the decision.

In an email sent to The Lebanon Voice today, Bragg said she had enjoyed working with the residents in town and will "miss their support and friendship."

Bragg said she made the decision with "deep regret and a heavy heart." She thanked her family for their support in making the decision and said she was looking forward to start a "new adventure in my life," though she did not immediately reveal what that new adventure might entail.

In closing, she encouraged residents to get involved in the town, urging residents to "volunteer for the many boards that need members."

Selectmen Chairman Ben Thompson was not immediately available for comment.

Below is the letter sent to The Lebanon Voice in its entirety.

To the Residents of Lebanon,

It is with deep regret and a heavy heart that I am resigning from my position as Town Clerk & Tax Collector for the Town of Lebanon. I have enjoyed providing 15 years of service to the residents of the Town and I will miss their support and friendship. Months of soul searching led me to this decision. I feel this is what is best for me and my family. I am excited to start a new adventure in my life. I would also like to thank everyone I have worked with over the years, and lastly my family, especially my husband Tony and my sons Carl & Travis. I couldn't have done it without your support and encouragement. I would encourage all of you to get involved in our community and volunteer for the many boards that need members. I wish the best for the Town of Lebanon and much success in the future.

Laura Bragg
