LEBANON - The Martha Sawyer Community Library has been awarded a grant from the Maine State Library Grant Program.

Librarian Marcy Polletta informed selectmen earlier this month that the $1,000 grant to fund a teen/young adult Lego Club was in the works and that she would be buying Lego Architecture sets and storage for the kits once the money is released.

The objective of the grant is to fill a void for the town's teens who are too old for the area Lego Clubs (usually for kids 12-and-under) and not eligible for Robotics through the MSAD 60 programs.

"I am hoping this will reinforce the library as a destination for our Lebanon teens," said Polletta, who added that only eight such grants were awarded throughout the state.
