MILTON - A fire caused by an overheated kiln damaged the Nute High School art room on Monday.

An alert custodian noticed thick smoke coming from the room a little before 7 p.m. and called Milton Fire, which was there in just a couple of minutes as their headquarters is nearby.

Classes are expected to resume today after the room is cleaned.

Initial reports indicate the blaze sparked when a chair too close to the kiln which was left running caught fire.
