LEBANON - After years of residents and selectmen arguing over, discussing the merits of and one time even voting to approve it but never getting it, newly elected Selectmen Chair Chip Harlow just did it.

On Friday the town officially entered the era of videotaped meetings of all selectmen's meetings as well as some boards and committees that will be allowed to use the equipment.

When asked on Friday how it came about Harlow said he'd done it himself.

The equipment includes one video camera and several microphones to pick up audio from around the selectmen's table, right down to Selectman Paul Nadeau's tapping his pen.

"The Select Board meetings along with other Boards and Committees will now be streaming live!" a town bulletin announced on Friday.

According to the email, "The Town has their own You-Tube channel in which you can subscribe to. Meetings live as well as saved and will be linked on the Town website. It is the hopes of the Select Board that this new procedure will make it easier to keep you the residents informed."

The links to the Town You-Tube channel as well as the first Select Board Meeting are listed below.
