ROCHESTER - Rochester Police are trying to close the case on a culinary caper that took place when two young men allegedly stole some ready to eat, precooked food as well as fruit and fled from the North Main Street Hannaford's earlier this month.

The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on March 12 when the pair are said to have picked out some vittles and left the store without paying, said Rochester Police Captain Gary Boudreau today.

The pair fled when confronted by store personnel, jumped into a Saturn SUV with New Hampshire plates and headed south on North Main toward the downtown.

Tipsters who think they may have have any information regarding this crime are asked to contact the Rochester Police Department at 603-330-7128 and reference case number 15-1029-OF.

Tipsters can also remain anonymous by calling the Rochester Crimeline at 603-335-6500 or text to CRIMES (274637) and type Text4Cash in the body of the text followed by your tip. Tips through Crimeline leading to an arrest may receive a cash reward.
