LEBANON - The Town of Lebanon will hold its inaugural Lebanon Festival on Sept. 13, and Festival Committee Chair Rebekah Thompson says it will be a great way to showcase all the wonderful things Lebanon has to offer and bring the community together for a fun family event.

“It’s going to be a fun community day and show that Lebanon is a really cool community,” Thompson said on Wednesday. “A lot of people don’t know all the really interesting organizations, groups and clubs that are actually in Lebanon and this is a fun way to draw them out.”

There will also be plenty of fun activities for the kids like games, face painting, balloon animals and clowns as well as several booths with representatives from various organizations and businesses. There will also be exhibits, crafters and activities for children and adults alike.

Food concession stands run by Babe Ruth Baseball and Lebanon Youth Soccer are already scheduled grilling up hot dogs, hamburgers and cheeseburgers, while Schoolhouse Ice Cream will also be on hand.

The festival will be held on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the soccer fields next to the Hanson School on Upper Guinea Road, and it is a rain or shine event.

Event organizers are still outreaching for additional vendors, crafters and artists who would like to offer their wares at this unique inaugural event. Table fees are $25 for a 10 by 10 foot space and $40 for a 10 by 20 foot space.

The festival is sponsored by Kennebunk Savings, Spence and Mathews Insurance, Batchelder's Sales Inc, STS Construction, Phil's Fabrication, Brian's Brake and Muffler, Hilltop Fireworks, Dover Marine, Farm field Greenhouses, Covered Bridge Sports and The Lebanon Voice.
Other sponsors are also being sought to help defray the cost. As was the case with Lebanon Cleanup Day, sponsors will get a free ad in The Lebanon Voice to run from when they sign on as a sponsor through Sept. 13.
