Inaugural Festival of Trees brings city a holiday glow

ROCHESTER - The city's inaugural Festival of Trees takes place next Saturday at Studley's Flower Gardens.

Some 25 Christmas trees - decorated by various businesses and groups - will be judged and then raffled off.

There will also be a cash bar and entertainment, including an a Capella group from the University of New Hampshire, The Wildtones.

The family friendly event takes place from 4 to 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 3 at Studley's Flower Gardens, located at 82 Wakefield St.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand for the kids from 6-8 p.m.

Parking will be available at the Governor's Inn.

Admission is $2, or $1 with a canned food donation.

Proceeds will benefit downtown promotions and events.

The event, which runs from 4-8:30 p.m., is sponsored by Service Credit Union, Rochester Main Street, Home Depot and Studley's.
