DOVER, N.H. - A Milton man has been indicted on heroin possession charges stemming from an August arrest in Farmington, N.H.

John Ackerman, 40, of 545 White Mtn. Hwy., faces up to seven years in prison if convicted. Court records indicate Ackerman was arrested on Aug. 20 at an unspecified location in Farmington.

The offense also carries up to a $25,000 fine.

The Strafford County grand jury indictments were handed down on May 19 and released on Friday.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that a grand jury has found sufficient evidence to warrant a trial.
