Heralded film shorts headed for ROH screening

Spend a special evening viewing sixteen innovative, award-winning indie shorts on one of the largest movie screens in the area.

For this presentation, the Rochester Opera House debuts a 28 x 17.5 foot screen with digital projection. Film Shorts showcases the latest edition of the Rochester Museum of Fine Arts independent film series by filmmakers from around the globe. Included in the selection: The computer animated short Wildlife Crossing by artist/animator Noro Drziak and Anthony Wong, a character animator working at Pixar Animation Studios; Prospect, which premiered at the 2014 SXSW Film Festival; and more, such as The Artists, The Black Hole, Life is Beautiful, Clinic Bubblegum, Much Better Now and Living with Jigsaw.

The bi-annual celebration of movie-making excellence brings together film enthusiasts, filmmakers and artists to discover the best in contemporary cinema. The presentation on Saturday, May 23, begins with a cocktail hour at 7 p.m. The screening is set up as an informal forum to enjoy film and to engage in lively discussion at film end.
