Getting a head start on Lebanon Cleanup Day

Shannon Hobson of Carl Broggi Highway and Jesse Petty of Jim Grant Road pick up roadside trash along Rochester Road on Friday afternoon. The two said they also plan to help out during Lebanon Cleanup day on Saturday, May 3, when volunteers will fan out along town roads to collect bottles, cans and food wrappers discarded during a long, hard winter. Organizers are planning a free barbecue for volunteers at the Town Offices on Upper Guinea Road when the work is done. For more information call Town Offices at 457-6082. Cleanup Day is sponsored by the Town Of Lebanon and The Lebanon Voice. Contributors include, Salmon Falls Café, Batchelder Sales, Papa Gino’s of Rochester, Triple J Feeds, Stokewoods Diner and Welch’s Hardware. Donations are to help the town with costs, including the free cookout, which will begin at 12:30 p.m. The town will be passing out gloves and bags at Town Offices at 8:30 a.m. (Harrison Thorp photo)
