Garden club prepping for 20th-anniversary celebration

Southern Maine Garden Club began in 1996 and met in the homes of the charter members from the Lebanon, Sanford, Springvale and South Berwick areas, as well as Milton and Rochester.

They became members of the Garden Club Federation of Maine in 1998 and are also part of a five-club group in Southern Maine known as the Piscataqua District. Their meetings are now held at the Springvale Library, in on the third Wednesdays of the month beginning at 6:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, Sept. 21, a 20-year anniversary party is planned at the Wormwood Center on Route 4 in Sanford, part of the Waban Projects (http://www.wormwoodcenter.org/) beginning at 5:30 p.m. We will have a chance to catch up with old friends, listen to an entertaining speaker, have dinner and some surprises.
