Festival folk make urgent appeal for next year's 250th

LEBANON - Even as Lebanon Festival organizers make final preparations for Saturday's annual town party, they are looking ahead at a daunting task preparing for next year's 250^th celebration of the town's birth.

Festival organizer Rebekah Thompson said on Wednesday that this year's festival was put together by just three, and that would be a near-impossible task if they want to pull off the kind of celebration the town's 250^th deserves next summer.

"Next year, we are going to need a lot more hands and help if we are going to be able to create something really great for the 250^th," Thompson said.

The committee charged with the organizing of next year's celebration won't begin work until February.
