ROCHESTER - Officials still have not found a home for a discarded headstone of a World War I veteran found recently in Rochester.

The headstone, belonging to a Cpl. Harold Drew, an Army veteran of WWI, was found on private property in the city.

Police were notified and have tried to find where the marker belongs.

On Thursday Rochester Police noted that outreach has led them to believe it may belong at a Farmington, N.H., cemetery, but they are still waiting for confirmation.

The headstone was one of two recently found on the same private property, the other having already been traced back to the Rochester Cemetery on Franklin Street.

Rochester Police are asking anyone who might know where the headstone belongs to contact the department at 603-330-7218 and reference case # 15-2250-OF.
