DOVER, N.H. - An East Rochester man has been indicted in a scheme to defraud another man by posing as a bail commissioner, taking a check for between $1,000 and $1,500 from the victim and forging the check for his own purposes.

Eric Dubois, 35, of 5 Trestle Road, is charged with identity fraud, theft by misapplication of property and forgery, all felony offenses that could land him in state prison for up to 29 years if convicted on all counts.

The identity fraud and misapplication of property occurred in August 2013, while the forgery charge stems from a January 2014 incident, however all of the incidents are related.

The Strafford County grand jury indictments were handed down Jan. 15 and released on Monday.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that a grand jury has found sufficient evidence to move to trial.
