City's arts center gets big financial boost from WM

ROCHESTER - The city's arts community just got a huge financial boost.
Waste Management and Rochester Opera House Executive Director Anthony Ejarque announced on Thursday a sponsorship deal with the new Rochester Opera House Performance and Arts Center that includes a $15,000 donation to the center.
The Rochester Performance and Arts Center, made possible by Holy Rosary Credit Union and Rochester Opera House, is a not-for-profit arts organization that combines versatile studio and performance spaces, art gallery, and comprehensive arts and educational programming for students, children, teens, adults, and seniors in a comfortable and uniquely supportive environment, according to the Rochester Opera House website.
The 4,000-square-foot center will be located in the former Carney Medical Supply building on North Main Street.
The center will include recording studios and a large performance space that can seat up to 100 people.
Part of the Waste Management donation to the center includes naming rights, however, what the exact name might be was not released.
As renovations to the center move forward, the public will be invited to donate time and labor.
