DOVER, N.H. - A Rochester man has been indicted in an attack on a female in July in which he threw a knife at her and cut her with a knife.

David Cortez, 53, of 127 Dry Hill Road, stands charged with second degree assault and reckless conduct in the July 15 incident and could face up to 7 years in state prison on each of the two felony counts.

Cortez is charged with the reckless conduct for allegedly "throwing a knife or knives" at the female.

The indictments were handed down by the Strafford County grand jury earlier this month and made public this week.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that enough evidence has been produced to warrant a trial.
