ROCHESTER - What appears to be highly structured and organized credit card fraud reared its head in Rochester again, this time at Walmart as a man purchased several IPads with a stolen credit card and then a short time later bought $1,500 worth of gift cards using fraudulent plastic as well.

The man returned to buy another $1,500 in gift cards, but the credit card used for that purchase declined.

The gift cards he obtained were used at Walmarts in New York.

Rochester Police are urging everyone to please monitor your credit/debit card accounts and if you believe they have been compromised, to please contact your credit card company or bank immediately and make a report to the police department in that jurisdiction.

Meanwhile, it anyone recognized this suspect or have any information regarding the incident, please call the Rochester Police Department at 603-330-7128 and reference Case #14-6322-OF.

Tipsters can also remain anonymous by calling the Rochester Crimeline at 603-335-6500 or text to CRIMES (274637) and type Text4Cash in the body of the text followed by your tip. Tips through Crimeline leading to an arrest may receive a cash reward.
