ROCHESTER, N.H. - Alan Dennis Maxfield, 66, of Milton Road, died Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness.
Born September 22, 1947, in Rochester he was the son of the late Emile and Vera (Ketchen) Maxfield
Alan has lived in Rochester all his life. He was employed at the Rochester Public Works Dept. for 28 years until his retirement two years ago. He worked mostly as a street sweeper and plow truck driver during the winter. He was a member of the Advent Christian Church in Eliot, Maine. He loved the railroads and the trains that traveled them. He was a member of the National Railroad Association. Alan loved traveling to Pennsylvania he also looked forward to every Sunday morning breakfast at Norma's Restaurant in York, Maine, to meet with his church family.
Members of his family include his wife of 45 years, Judy (Gauthier) Maxfield of Rochester; his brother in-laws, Robert, Bruce and Mike Gauthier; nieces and nephews.
