MILTON - A year after the outdoor portions of Milton's Winter Carnival were scrapped due to lack of snow and cold, this year's could be on track to be one of its best.

"This week's recent back to back snowstorms could play in our favor," noted Milton Rec Director Karen Brown over the weekend.

Highlights for this year's winter extravaganza will be the dedication and ribbon cutting at the new fire station across from Town Beach on White Mountain Highway and the return of the hot-air balloon exhibition by Milton Elementary School fifth-graders.

"We hope to get a lot of people for the fire department ribbon cutting," said Brown of the ribbon cutting at Milton Fire and Rescue, which will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
