DOVER, N.H. - Many were outraged and in disbelief upon hearing of a brazen duo who dared a Rochester armed robbery at the busy Milton Road Shell convenience store in broad daylight during afternoon commute time last June.

The pair arrested in the case, Brandon Hamel, 19, of 3 Warren St., Apt. B, Rochester, and Jonathan Wilson, 21, of 119½ High St., Somersworth, and formerly of 288 Blackwater Road, Gonic, have both been indicted on the charges as well as in the horrific beating of a Somersworth pizza deliveryman who suffered hearing loss after being allegedly struck in the head and face with a handgun while being robbed by Hamel and Wilson along with another Somersworth man, 19-year-old Cole Will, in July.

Another Rochester man was also indicted in the June 25 Shell robbery, Tyler Patrick, 19, of 410 Portland Ave., Apt. E. A fourth suspect, a 16-year-old juvenile, was not indicted.

The summer crime spree actually began a few days earlier, when it is alleged Hamel and Wilson stole firearms from a Rochester residence on June 20.

Jonathan Wilson

When Wilson and Hamel are said to have confronted the Milton Road Shell convenience store clerk, it is alleged one had a sawed-off shotgun and the other a long-barreled handgun.

Several customers were inside the store shopping at the time of the incident.

Wilson was arrested in the robbery July 12 and Hamel was arrested a week later. Patrick's arrest date was unclear at presstime.

After the Milton Road Shell robbery it appears Hamel and Wilson hatched a scheme in Somersworth to attempt to set up a false delivery of pizza then rob the deliveryman of cash.

The pair were indicted, along with Will, of doing just that, not once, but twice, only aborting one of the attempts when they saw Somersworth Police in the area where the plan was going to be executed.

But a deliveryman from Somersworth House of Pizza was not so lucky. When he arrived at an unoccupied Green Street, Somersworth, residence on July 2, it is alleged one of the trio struck him in the head with a handgun, while robbing him of cash.

The deliveryman suffered loss of hearing and lacerations to his face and continues to recover from the attack.

Cole Will

The trio have also been indicted in a burglary at the Somersworth VFW on June 16.

Hamel, Wilson and Will, were hit with some 20 indictments in the summer crime spree, while Patrick, whose role in the Milton Road Shell heist is unclear, received just one.

All four face 10-20 year prison sentences if convicted.

The indictments were handed down by a Strafford County grand jury on Oct. 16 and made public on Tuesday.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that enough evidence has been brought forward to warrant a trial.
