16-year-old driver, bicyclist collide near high school

ROCHESTER - A 16-year-old bicyclist collided with another 16-year-old driving a car near Spaulding High today.

The incident occurred around 7:25 a.m. when Rochester Police say the 16-year-old bicyclist was riding in the crosswalk and headed towards the school when they were struck by a Hyundai Sonata traveling northbound on Wakefield Street.

The operator of the Hyundai was Jeremiah Richardson of Rochester. The bicyclist was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with what were described as nonlife-threatening injuries.

The collision remains under investigation.
